Indonesian Military Medicine Roadmap As a Strategic Plan

TNI health development that conducted continuously was a real form of support for the successful implementation of the TNI main task to uphold the state sovereignty, keep the territorial integrity, and protect to the save our nation, enforce of the MOW and MOOTW, as well as participate actively into regional task and international peacekeeping forces, as mandated by law number 34 of 2004. The National defense Policies as stated in Presidential Decree No. 5 of 2010 concerning on The National Medium-Term Development Plan 2010-2014, states that the goal of defense and security sector development are directed to the realization of improving the National defense capability. These capabilities will provide maximum results if supported by the health of military personnel and family as well as medical support to military operations units that spread throughout the territory of Indonesia through a Roadmap of the military medicine development plan.

TNI Health Development Plan aimed at increasing the ability to provide medical support operations, military exercises and health services to TNI personnel anywhere they are, especially in border areas, in the outer islands and remote areas and carried out by prioritizing integration of the TNI as a basic principle which be realized in Integrated tridimensional TNI framework, in order to synergize the strength of the three dimensions optimally, effective and efficient through the achievement of the Minimum Essential Force /MEF. TNI health development influenced by a strategic environment that grow in accordance with the dynamics in the field as well as science and technology. Global issues that occur require attention in anticipation and keep military preparedness to assist the government of the adverse effects resulting from it. In the future, challenges and TNI’s tasks related to defense issues will be more complicated, therefore TNI medical community should be more responsive to the evolving dynamics.

To ensure the policies and strategies in achieving the target within the next five years need a Roadmap that describe of Strategic Plan for TNI Health Development. TNI medical Strategic Plan refers to the TNI’s main task, functions and financial resources and budget ability of the state, human resources, Government policy and strategic plan of the TNI itself. Hopefully by this Strategic Plan is expected will be obtained some strategic formulation in determining the goals, objectives, policies and programs and activities to be able to carry out the tasks of medical support operations, military exercises and the health service in realizing "the minimum of defense forces."
